We recommend for many years Karterados Apartments with shuttle service to the port / airport and crisis prices' like old times in Karterados. A tranquil resort 2 km south-east of Fira in the center there are some nice taverns, on a deserted beach a tavern/restaurant..
Fira
Fira’s houses glow snow-white in front of the black caldera edge, looming 300 m. 566 stairs lead steeply up through a maze of narrow lanes, and even more rambling houses. Some of them use their roofs as a terrace. It is much more relaxed to get up by cablecar, or on a mule’s back. Read more and view photos: http://www.santorin.gr/en/
