Galini is a grown, quiet and typical Naxiotic village. Here is a great place to rest, relax and raise privacy purpose in life. Passing the orchards and small farms it is only 1500 meters from the sandy beach in the bay Amitis where not even in the high season the towels are lined up.

The area has two gems to offer that are absolutely worth a visit. The monastery Ypsilotera and the Olive Oil Museum in the nearby village Engares.
Ypsilotera was a fortified tower and monastery in ancient times. It was probably the strongest fortress on the island and alternate between base for raids and then again to become the stronghold for the protection of people in the region. The tower Ypsilotera was founded in 1600 by Iakovos Kókkos, inside the tower there is a post-Byzantine church.
The Olive Oil Museum is located in one of the numerous old mills in Engares, dates from 1884 and shows impressive exhibits from the past centuries.

Vangelis' farm can be visited by appointment. You are welcome to participate in this field of work, so you get a vivid impression of the agricultural activities, of course, you can also reap your own vegetables and cook later. In Galini and Engares there are some typical and well-known taverns, which are among the best in the island of Naxos.
At the nearby sandy beach Amitis with crystal clear water the small river from Kinidaros flows into the sea. And if you do not want to go to Naxos, you will find a mini-market and a gas station 800 meters from the village.

Kastro Apartments are located in Old Naxos Town, right next to the Venetian Castle (Kastro), in between the alleys and the maze of the Old Town of Naxos, in a distinct environment where cars are banned. This part of Naxos Town is in fact a medieval town built in the 13th century and mostly preserving its original form.
It is a group of traditional apartments, where the older part of the building probably belongs to 1566, when this part of the town was first inhabited in modern times.
The apartments have been decorated with a traditional touch, to make you feel the island majestic way of life.
